The Security Key M provides a portable hardware lock for your Motive 3 license, allowing the license to be used on different computers. When moving between computers, connect the Security Key to the computer you want to use and make sure the corresponding Motive license file is also installed on that computer. You can copy the existing license file or activate the license on the new computer.
For example, you may use one computer for capture and another for reviewing or editing motion capture data. As long as the Motive license is installed on both computers, you can move the Security Key between them depending on which computer you need to use.
Most OptiTrack systems require both a Motive license and a USB Security Key. Some OptiTrack devices, such as tracking bars, provide Motive licensing through the device itself and do not require a separate license or Security Key.
