Sr. Front End Web Developer

Corvallis, Oregon

NaturalPoint, makers of the OptiTrack suite of tracking products, seeks a talented and experienced Front End Web Developer to execute on all aspects of our store front.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced front-end developer that has a solid full stack understanding with the talent to deliver robust (quality, scalability) experiences to our users. You follow emerging Web front-end technologies with the maturity to know how and when to adopt them into an enterprise product that will be put through its paces by our engaged and passionate clients. You have a strong desire to encourage a positive team culture by leading technical designs, doing peer code reviews, contributing to coding standards, writing unit tests, and other various good engineering best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, prototype and implement your elegant technical solutions to support our constantly improving storefront.
  • Work with in-house marketing and backend specialists to design solutions for marketing driven content, style and workflow changes, primarily at optitrack.com.
  • Code, test then deploy high quality, robust solutions to provide the ultimate in customer experience.

Required

  • Experience in designing solutions that utilize software and client-side design patterns and best practices.
  • Experience with responsive design.
  • Preferably experience with UI architecture and/or framework architecture.
  • Experience with various client-side technologies including CSS, JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, AJAX.
  • Knowledgeable experience with various JavaScript frameworks. Ideally Vue.js, React, Redux, webpack, npm, node), cross-browser compatibility, unit testing (Jest, Jasmine, Enzyme, etc.), and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum processes.
  • Possesses great communication and teamwork skills.
  • Domain knowledge in e-commerce applications.

Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience: 5+ years of experience in web technology with a successful and demonstrable history of launching projects.

Graphic Designer/Art Director

Corvallis, Oregon

NaturalPoint, makers of the OptiTrack suite of tracking products, seeks a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to execute on all aspects of our visual communication efforts.

Reporting to the CSO and Brand Manager, you will use your creative talent to:

  • Develop web pages, graphics, multimedia pieces, and GUIs for web properties as well as our desktop software, from initial concept, storyboarding and layout to design and development, through production deployment.
  • Design and develop graphics and images that present complex data and analytical information in a creative and visual way that engages its audience.
  • Establish and maintain best practices and design methods for art direction and stay abreast of rich media techniques, emerging technologies, and latest web trends.
  • Collaborate with user experience team members on interaction design framework and execution to ensure seamless transition between user experience design and visual design.
  • Design GUI elements and suggest workflows for OptiTrack's desktop software.
  • Execute design comps, create visual prototypes, and build application front-end interfaces using HTML/CSS.

Required

  • The ability to create art which elegantly tells our technical story while eliciting emotion.
  • Master with InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Experience in web design including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX.
  • Expert knowledge in industry trends and experience designing applications leveraging these trends.

Software Test Engineer

Corvallis, Oregon

The Software Test Engineer position at NaturalPoint offers the opportunity to work with interesting emerging and established technologies with the world’s leaders in VR, drone research, robotics, biomechanics, filmmaking and game development.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing all aspects of our software and hardware product lines for performance, compliance, and regressions. This involves identifying, recording, documenting, and tracking bugs using Assembla.
  • Providing answers to technical customer questions and other support via phone, online forums, and email.
  • Assistance with pre-sales testing and demonstrations.
  • Building and maintaining automated test suites and sample data.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BS in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Biomechanics, or other Engineering/Sciences) – equivalent experience or being near completion towards degree is also acceptable.
  • Some experience with programming languages such as C++, Python, or C#.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience giving presentations.
  • Strong team player - possessing the willingness to seek feedback, adopt NaturalPoint practices, and continuously learn, evolve and improve.
  • Great technical acumen, proficiency with Windows based applications, networking.

Bonus Points for

Customer Support Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical customer care, installation, training and application advice via phone, online forums, email, and on-site at our customer’s labs and studios.
  • Front line incident management, investigation, solution and follow through with an emphasis on speed, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Assistance with pre-sales testing and demonstrations.
  • In-house testing for suitability and system optimization for new applications.
  • Create long lasting relationships with our valued customers by providing timely, on-target and helpful solutions to our customer’s application questions.
  • Up to 35% domestic and international travel.
