FreeSpace 2 is the award-winning classic space sim from Volition and Interplay. With the source code of FreeSpace 2 publicly released, the FreeSpace community continually improves it in order to enhance the original FreeSpace experience and to help independent game makers make their very own games such Wing Commander Saga or the Battlestar Galactica fan game Beyond the Red Line.

FreeSpace 2 Open is the primary project of the FS2 Source Code Project and takes advantage of the upgraded engine for FreeSpace 2.

TrackIR will soon be available to any FreeSpace 2 Open developer, and we will attempt to link to as many projects as possible which subsequently choose to take advantage of TrackIR support. Many thanks to Samuel Cho for helping us to offer TrackIR support to a wider audience!
